MSI Gaming X 1080 high temperature. Are these normal?

-Gaming X 1080
-32GB RAM Corsair LPX
-EVGA Supernova G2 650W
-NZXT Noctis 450
I checked the temperature on MSI Afterburner after playing Overwatch for about 2 hours and the max temp was 86C. Idle temps are at 49C. This is when I have the AC on. Max fan speed was something around 80%. Are these normal temps?
The card usually goes up to 83 but then again the temperature target in Afterburner is 83, so I increased that to 92 which made it go up to 86.
Earlier last month my AC was broken and the idle temperature was 55-59C. I noticed that increasing case fan speeds to the highest lowered the temp to 50.
The ventilation in the case is alright I guess... my CPU stays cool. 28C when idle and 75 load.
I'm gaming on a 1440p monitor. I'm not entirely sure what the ambient temps are but it's pretty hot in my country. Usually around 28-30C these days. I got the MSI card because all the reviews showed it getting very good temps.
