whats your take on ron desantis as a presidential candidate?

I'm from Florida, and while you're certainly not wrong about us having some of the most idiotic citizens... I think it's important to point out some things.

For one, a large population of Florida is retired boomers and rich northerners who came in droves for the lack of COVID restrictions (implemented, of course, by our favorite fascist.. DeSantis)

But I think it's also important to point out how DeSantis essentially redesigned/remade the state's congressional districts in order to favor republicans. Not to say that there isn't a large part of the population that simply supports his idiotic rhetoric, but the gerrymandering in Florida is out of hand and certainly helped him get elected. (This is something he won't be able to do on a national level... which makes me inclined to believe that he won't succeed in getting elected)

Additionally, Florida has a large population of Cuban immigrants that tend to vote right wing... which doesn't help the situation.

While it's fine to criticize Florida voters to a certain extent... I think it's important to hold some semblance of sympathy for the state's citizens that didn't vote that way and are suffering the consequences of dangerous policies targeting LGBTQ+ members, women, and POC.
