Sony wouldn’t be losing money they’d just be making less.
Disney maybe shouldn’t have been so stubborn but I believe you get what you pay for and Disney consistently produces results. And if Sony makes a bad Spider-Man film you can’t say Disney killed it because they will have no role in the process whatsoever.
Maybe it’s power move to make Sony out a bomb and just sell the rights.
