HOW DO I BUY MAKEUP?

Hi, all!

I'm 30 years old and ready for a professional everyday look. I've never really bought myself nice makeup. I always do what I can with cheap stuff from the beauty aisle at the grocery store. But it's become so frustrating (because the products are generally terrible). I once bought a pot of loose pigment from MAC and I always order my foundation from Estee Lauder (Doublewear's all I like). I'm considering buying about $215 worth of makeup here to establish my collection. I've watched and read tons of reviews on all products, looked up swatches and am going to go see them IRL at the mall in the next day or two to finalize shades.

My question is really: how can I make the most of my $$? I've saved up for a long time to be able to do this so if there are any tricks or incentives, I'm all ears. I noticed that Belk has a sale going on right now on DoubleWear that gets me a free 7-piece sample set of products and a cute bag. I've never shopped there before but just randomly googled "Estee Lauder free gift" and it came up. So I'll be doing that and ordering the other products directly from Estee Lauder.

I am just ordering the following:

  • DoubleWear Foundation in my shade 3N1

  • DoubleWear Lip Pencil in Tawny

  • Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence

  • Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

  • Automatic Brow Pencil Duo in Soft Blonde

  • Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara

  • DoubleWear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Onyx

I have medium skin with olive undertones, grey eyes but I often wear green contacts, very dirty blonde hair and eyebrows.

Any and all advice and suggestions welcome!
