Tipping culture is getting toxic. What if I can't afford more than what I am offering sometimes?

Okay so when I was broke and hungry, door dash first came out in 2016, I wouldn’t ever take someones whole meal, but a drink from this guy, a fry from that guy, a burger out of 5 from that other dude. It was sometimes the only thing I ate. I didn’t feel good about it but I rationalized it in my own way. Us drivers at the time, couldn’t see the tip until after the delivery, I think it’s still that way. One time I drove 37 minutes both ways to deliver some Pad Thai; the lady texted me to speed up the whole way there. When I got there and marked it as delivered, i had no tip waiting for me. (This would’ve been 74 minutes of work and gas for $10) I ripped that bag open and dumped her food in her front yard in the snow for her chickens. They ate a good $100 worth of fancy cold chicken pad Thai. Again I was hungry and angry. Now, my life has changed, I tip everyone I can, or I don’t go to a place that requires it if I don’t want to tip. Even in my travels best believe I tip.
