Tommy is really a top 5 GM

Still not even sure what the point is here, other than to complain about an era that ran its course from Grunfeld. I think what's being overlooked is Shep has gotten a whole lot more with a whole lot less time and salary cap.

It's probably better to point out that that core was drafted out of terrible records. any GM with half a brain would have drafted John Wall and Beal. I'm only naming one specific bad signing during the John Wall and Beal years (his other extensions and trades speak for themselves), but Ian Mahinmi took up far too much other salary cap for any other potential signings.

Let's be totally honest here. There was greatness right in front of us with Wall and Beal in their primes. Grunfeld failed miserably to build around that.

Shep has already shown he is able to acquire more depth, and make moves that make sense. I'm still optimistic about the Wizards' future in the post Wall era because there's a GM who is able to make moves and recruit.
