Trevor Noah: If You Oppose Obama's $400k Wall St. Speech 'Fúçk You'

I think you're being a little unrealistic with your judgement of Obama. After his presidency, he effectively resigned from political service. He has no responsibility to constituents, and imo he is being rightly rewarded for serving the American people with unceasing dedication and commitment (mind you I disagree with a lot of his politics). I think it's frankly wrong to characterize Obama as money grubbing, or subservient to Wall Street, considering how many times he has proven himself to be a man of conviction and thoughtfulness.

This is clearly a man who still has that same drive we all share as political beings. He is someone who fundamentally believes in the necessity for political advocacy in creating a better world. There are of course many politicians abuse their political power for Wall Street gains (e.g. Hillary Clinton changing her political positions directly after getting funding from particular corporations), and it is rightfully troubling how intimate a modern politicians is required to be with Wall Street, but I think it's important to be pragmatic and recognize that to be an effective politician in a nation of 350 million, you are obligated to have Wall Street support, and this shouldn't make you less of a principled politician.
