User /airon17 banned for knowing too much about scene transfers

Figured I'd make a post here since this post appears to be relevant to me. I guess. Was just going to reply to HotSauceJohnson, but I'll just make a quick post.

/u/HotSauceJohnson - There's a lot of stuff that does happen or is in the process of happening that really doesn't pass the smell test when talked about publicly. It's just one of those things that people really don't believe unless concrete evidence is put right in front of them. And I totally understand that. Most recently, the CLG Kori thing was one of those things that didn't pass the smell test. Hell, it even had the plausible deniability from CLG's side because everyone automatically thinks "CLG would never really do that, would they?". So if you talk about it like Jacob Wolf did, even if it was being talked about and in the makings (like it was), it doesn't matter and you're branded as a liar to the community and your reputation takes a hit.

I'll just talk about what differentiates me from someone like Jacob Wolf or Richard Lewis since a whole lot of people seem to have the idea that I am just some wannabe or something. I am not like them, I do not aim to be them. I am not official. I do/did not aim to have everything that I said come to fruition 100% of the time. What I aimed for was giving people info that they would otherwise not see. When I heard something, I would look more into it, ask around, and decide if it's something I can talk about or share. If so, then I would talk about it in the comments section. People would then be like "where's the proof??" and obviously I cannot and will not show them proof. I made that mistake one time at the very beginning and it bit me in the ass. Instead of showing proof, I had to kind of live by the same token that people like Jacob Wolf and Richard Lewis do, build up a reputation for being credible, which I feel I have done despite what some people would choose to believe. For whatever reason there's a lot of people that just blatantly refuse to acknowledge certain stories or information that I was absolutely right on before it ever became public knowledge. Comes with the territory I guess.

If it's not something I can talk about, then I would toss it off to someone like Jacob or Richard and see if they were working on it or if they heard anything about it. Most of the times, they are ahead of the curve. Those two in particular have contacts all over and they know everyone. One such instance of this was the Curse Miso article by Richard Lewis. I heard about that before anyone else surprisingly and realized I couldn't talk about it due to the low amount of people that knew about it. So I sent it over to Richard Lewis and gave him my thoughts on it, told him it's happening and to look more into it. He looked more into it, fact checked, asked people in Curse. Subsequent article came out.

That is one of the very, very few instances where I was actually ahead of the curve of the actual journalists, the people who make their living doing their jobs. Richard, Jacob, Nilu, etc, are absolutely phenomenal at what they do and are almost always in the know in almost anything that is happening.

All I aimed to do was to share information. For some people, it was easy enough doing so. They knew who I was due to me being right about certain things in the past and knew if I said something then it was most likely true. For some people, it was extremely hard doing so because they refused to acknowledge anything unless you hit them in the face with the evidence, something that cannot and will not even happen. One instance I took a lot of flak on was when I talked about C9 being very close to picking up Dade, Heart, and Spirit, all at separate points in the past offseason, for their challenger team. When I found out about it, I asked around and apparently a lot of journalists knew all about this, but were asked by Jack to keep quiet on it for whatever reason (I feel like the reason can be deduced fairly easily). I didn't think much of it and it was three or four months after the fact when I found out so I decided it was something I could feel fine openly talking about on Reddit. A lot of people hit me with the "where's the proof" and for whatever reason those people outweighed the people that knew who I was and knew that I was right a lot of the time. With this certain situation, it's kind of like the CLG Kori thing: plausible deniability due to the weight of the move. Instead of people thinking "huh, that could happen", people automatically went with the "oh that'd never happen you liar, stop spreading rumors!" or the "stop spreading lies about C9, if they were even close to those players they'd put them on their main team!". So I took a lot of random flak for sharing that info.

Anyways, I just wanted to shed some light onto who I am and what I did on this account. All I aimed to do was to share information that otherwise would not get out, or wouldn't be out for some time. Stuff fell into my hands one way or another from time to time and I would talk about it. I don't particularly like being kept in the dark about certain things and I assumed other people would enjoy knowing things they wouldn't otherwise find out.

As for the ban, I don't really care much for it. That sub is a steaming pile of shit. Certain mods on that sub have a major disdain for me and as conspiratard as it sounds, I wouldn't doubt it if certain players (Krepo) or orgs (Coast) messaged them and told them to ban me due to what I shared about them. I won't delve in too deeply because I really just don't want to deal with it, but there's a reason the admins won't do anything about that sub and it has to do with certain personal relationships. Just try to support other subs and other avenues of discussion. That place for discussion is too far gone.
