After Facebook and Twitter deleted his posts containing factual inaccuracies about the risks of Covid-19, Trump called for the repeal of Section 230, the law that protects internet free speech.

But it wouldn't even benifit him like that. The law says the host site can't be sued for the content someone else posts, like for example Twitter can't be sued for Trump saying Covid is less dangerous then the flu.

Remove the law and Twitter is now liable for Trumps tweets so they will have to remove anything that could get them sued. Same with reddit, facebook, etc. Repealing the law would do the complete opposite of what Trump thinks it would.

He might think it would make it fair for both sides it would affect him way more since we kinda know who is the one that posts misinformation more.
