We’ve Got Depression All Wrong. It’s Trying to Save Us.

We’ve focused entirely too much on treating symptoms. Very few psychologists or therapists know how to dig down to root causes.

Not once has any therapist had me “rewind the tape” and revisit my trauma in detail to really dissect what happened.

After giving my life over to God, He helped reveal to me that my panic and anxiety stemmed from being abandoned by my mother when she ran off with another man and left the home when I was only 16, not even giving me a sit-down talk about anything at all.

Since then, I had permanent fears that anyone and everyone was going to abandon me at any moment. This led me to never even be my real self because I felt too vulnerable, leading to severe social anxiety. Not good.

It was only when I realized that God promises to never leave nor forsake me that my fears of abandonment could be released.
