Vet tech vs veterinarian

The differences between being a veterinarian and a technician span much further than how much one deals with people. A vet is a doctor - to simplify a bit in a typical clinic setting you’ll be responsible for diagnostics and treatment plans while a technician is doing mostly nursing care, all under doctor direction. I’d recommend shadowing at a clinic to see what the roles actually entail. Choosing the doctor path is not for everyone and getting in to it without being able to work well with people or knowing what the profession actually is will be a big struggle. There are also many opportunities to work with animals outside of medicine that you could look into instead.
