Up close, personal and flirty with KISSING are also my preferences and VR has a chance to push this to the next level.
I haven't seen the mentioned video yet but the different moments of up close intimacy or intensity in the different videos that I've watched provide by far the strongest sensations. It's kind of like ASMR but much much sexier.

Then there are also POV porn producers who has made steamy up close work very good in recent years. Some even with POV kissing made believable and sexy.
Xev Bellringer, TaraTainton for starters and Natascha's Bedroom has one where you efffectively make out with her in bed that's very good. I'm sure clips4sale has plenty of this, and again, it should be inspiration with the advantages of VR which can take this to another level.
Finally, I can't believe there isn't anything Japanese yet. No one has pushed POV more to the limits than them. Gotten more out of so little if you will.
Just look at the IPZ series which would be amazing with VR and its intense making out and frequent intimacy. That's one place to look for direction.
There are also Japanese producers who has done very well with kissing-fetish if you will. Sometimes you see the guy, sometimes you don't. They have made both things work (on tablet at least) providing immersion.
GXAZ, REPLY,DDB, DOKS and others more or less obscure and hard to find.
The IDOL GRAVURE genre also has to be mentioned for perhaps the greatest source of potential inspiration.
Here the models and the camera EXPERTLY do all the things that people are longing for and that could be so much better in VR.
I'm talking both softcore and more hardcore. From the best simulated sex in more adult gravure to the common softcore scene where the model is right there in the sheets with you, rarely making out but very often all the way up close to you and with you, looking you in the eyes flirting constantly and occasionally even kissing you which are the magic moments you long for as the viewer.
