I realized I probably should have set the difficulty higher as well, thought since I just had higher tech that was why I was able to crush The Maratha, Persians and Ottomans as Mughals even in battles where I was outnumbered and more worried about running out of bullets then troops, but I just wrapped up a war with Venice before shutting down lastnight and defeated their armies without much trouble either.

Usually they will break after a few volleys then return to to the fight after retreating a bit but the enemy usually attacks so haphazardly it is easy to pick off units, I also have maybe not an issue but concern with the fact I can park 500+ cavalry 50 meters behind an enemy unit and they won't react till the last moment, not in cover or anything just standing brazenly on a hillside.
