Weekly /r/3DS Questions Thread - Need help using your 3DS or picking your next game? Ask here!

Hey everyone, I've been busy tearing my hair out for the past 2 weeks looking for my 3ds which disappeared and sadly I couldn't find it anywhere so I'm just giving up. :-( So I decided to purchase a new system, but since I purchased mine back when Pokemon Y (Christmas 2013)first came out, I have found that there is a ton more options then there were before. Now I've been through article after article, watched video after video, and cannot seem to come to a decision so I've decided to ask for help. Below is the list of pros and cons when it comes to my thoughts on the various choices 2DS: + Cheap in price, can pick up a couple games(some replacements for the ones I lost maybe). Can get a Seafoam one with Mario Kart 7 from Target for $80 + Design seems almost like a game pad, which I think with a silicone grip would make for comfortable play + Never really used the 3D on my old 3DS anyway +Better screen than original 3ds from the demonstrations I have seen(Not in overall quality, mainly just brightness but still) Ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4j-OiVFiEu0 +Great Variety of colors -Concerns over build quality and screen protection -Same small screens as Original(wasn't a big fan of it in some games, Fire Emblem Awakening was good but Smash Bros...not so much) -Less portable, I almost always have a bag with me and my hoodie has fairly big pockets so not as big a problem Side note- I play with headphones all the time so the mono sound isn't an issue 3DS XL +Bigger Screen +Longer Battery Life than original 3ds +Also pretty cheap(can pick up refurbished from nintendo for $115 or from Gamestop for 160 bucks with Super Smash Bros) -Slightly blurry and muddy from what I've seen(maybe it's just the videos I've watched) "New" 3DS XL +Noticable increase in performance overall from what I've seen and heard, from Smash and others +Games look slightly better +SNES support from VC(Super Mario World, FTW) +Maybe Face-Tracking 3d will appeal, I'd need to see it for myself first +Future proof, for any games that come out in the future... -...However I have always held the belief that buying anything gaming related for future potential is rarely a good thing. Plus I have no real interests in the current exclusives(Xenoblade and Binding of Issac) -No charger included -As stated above, 3D doesn't really matter to me at the moment(but also maybe the face-tracking will convince me) -Lack of choices for colors(plus the fingerprint attracting glossy finish) -The price(Gamestop has them for 175.00, but I'd have to drive 130 miles to get it, or try to convince another store nearby to price-match) PLEASE HELP!!!!! I'm losing my mind over this.
