Benzo's game giveaway! Day 2 of 3!!

I'm struggling to like them because of their insistence on innovation. They trip over themselves at every step, having to show the world that they are unique. Look at the Wiimote! Look at the gamepad! One worked, luckily for them, the other not so much. I just want a controller. I just want games that I don't have to shake a big tablet-controller to interact with. I just want to smack buttons like a monkey and see shiny things on screen, dammit.

Aside from this, they've turned into an Amiibo peddling machine. I hate plastic crap and I hate pandering, so seeing them devote so much to this personally makes me really sad. Not a big deal though, doesn't hurt me.

I still like them. While I mostly just glare at my Wii U and the dust it is gathering, I use the 3DS a crap ton. They got that right, and when Nintendo gets something right it feels good. Not only are we drowning under a bunch of games (in a good way), but it's got a healthy bit of 3rd party support, MONSTER HUNTER!, a little capable internet browser, and a nice way to "meet" with others. The StreetPass function and minigames are cool, and I've found a couple Miis of people I haven't seen in years from Streetpass Relays.

And while I'm not a fan of the pricing structure, the Virtual Console stuff is novel. I can hop from MK7 to SMK, Shantae, Street Fighter IV, Super Metroid, etc... tons of choices. Not the cheapest, which is why I only have 2 of the games listed in that example, lol, but still it's well done and works fine.

And, finally, on their earlier consoles, their games are surprisingly future-proof. NES to N64, the graphics will of course get dated, but level designs and gameplay seem to hold up well. Which is good, because every 6 months I get an urge to re-play Super Mario 64. I don't think I'll ever escape from that game.
