I sent a message to that developer. I was taught to always use a connection to get introduced to a connection so I tend to do that. I am thinking maybe he still knows someone who can get to him. But I like your way, too. Whatever works. But I'm still hoping that they will allow you to use the Open in Tab as the default, temporarily. That other requirement -- that I cannot work on my desktop without a video spewing all over it -- is the big obstacle/pia.

I think you have to think of this totally from a "what's the money reward to YouTube" point of view if you want to be unchained from their TOS. If you can magically persuade someone with the power to let you experiment with a new monetization approach that benefits everyone, that could open up doors. It is, after all, truly about money.

You know... at the university there are piles and piles of intellectual property. Those piles of IP are licensed out. Now there may be an idea... I hadn't thought of that before. It would be a new idea to Youtube and difficult but there's an idea in this... hmmm..

The way it works with IP is that me -- my business -- would say to WSU that I want to license use of your IP so I can do x x x .. The two parties hammer out an agreement. It is often an agreement tied to one of the following: revenue, net profit or gross profit. There's a starting point for a licensing fee and as, for example, revenue incrases, the license fee increases.

So, here's my question: I wonder if Streamus could license use of YouTube's service in the manner you need it. Then you work on quickly getting users to pay.

You know... this has possibilities. I hadn't thought of it before...but... don't toss it aside... ponder... And I have a VP contact at UI I can set you up with. Gene Merrill. I can connect you two.
