What was 343 thinking with these ludicrous bullet sponge bosses?

If you ask me the biggest problem about the boss characters isn’t the spongey-ness.

It’s that they die too quickly… narratively speaking.

Istg more than half of the time it feels like the story is leading up to introduce some badass villain character(s) that’ll be our main concern for the next couple of levels or missions only to rudely reveal we’re gonna kill them and never hear of them again at the end of one level.

Like they have a whole opening cutscene establishing the character dynamics between Tremonius and Jega but the former is dead before we even set foot on the main map.

Or like they introduce the Spartan killers like some whole new upgraded faction of Banished that will start spawning in the open world but it turns out to be just two guys and motorcycle.

It’s literally 343i’s fetish for killing villains prematurely but on a smaller scale.
