not necessarily the biggest but certainly the most horrifying and most remembered is the second battle of New Kabul also called the Paris disaster. It was the second battle over the planet of New Kabul between the nations of Vostok and the Dubai pact. Vostok had taken it 3 months prior with relative ease when the Pact had tactically retreated and regrouped. The second battle however would not be so easy. due to a massive breakdown of communications and military intelligence, both nations deployed their armies (about 30 million each) within 100 miles of the same city, each believing the other one was deploying elsewhere until it was too late. unable to retreat without incurring massive losses and losing the planet, each side threw against each other. for six days the bloodiest fighting in human history occurred, averaging 8 million deaths a day (counting civilians). Somehow, things only got worse. while the slaughter was happening on the ground, a space battle was occurring in orbit all around the planet. during the fighting one ship, the super carrier Paris, was accidentally hit and de-orbited(once carriers have delivered their armies they have little armament and so are not priority targets). Its crew of 20,000 and its anti-matter fuel crash landed a ways north of the city where the fighting occurred. The resulting explosion instantly killed 50 million and its radiation would result in the deaths of 17 million over the next couple days before anyone could get treatment. after the explosion, both sides simply refused to fight and the planet was completely abandoned. two weeks later, both sides would declare peace and mutually resettled and help rebuild new Kabul. it didn't even end there however. of the surviving 11 millions soldiers from both sides, over 80% would go one to commit suicide from the horrors they witnessed. total death toll, 115 million in eight days and around nine million from later suicides.
