I am sorry to tell you this but by what you’ve typed in this post, it proves that you haven’t taken the time to at least at the minimum, learn the basic principles of what dreaming Spanish is built on.

From the early stages especially, you need to be focusing on familiarizing yourself with the sounds of the language. When you’re reading subtitles, your focus is split. Additionally, instead of letting the natural sound of the word (used in context by a native speaker) as the foundation that you’re building on, you instead build on a loose translation that is something different. It’s something mixed and not natural.

Watching Spanish movies and shows with English subtitles is truly defeating the whole point that this system is built on.

If you’re going to utilize dreaming Spanish I feel that you should get the most out of it. Pablo has a whole playlist on YouTube covering everything you need to know. I believe just slowing down a little bit and watching that would help you
