What was hacking like pre and post war?

Like SableMalamute said, "hacking" is a pretty broad term. I play my character as a pre-war white-hat hacker in the Army, which I guessed would’ve involved a lot more physical hacking and infiltration than cyber-hacking. You’re manually disabling turrets, robots, picking locks, and busting into terminals. Networking and Internet is very rudimentary, it basically had email, some file sharing, and some info storage (like the BoS knowledge bases). But still heavily relied on "sneaker net" than cyber or even electronic warfare. But there are white-hat security teams companies hire now to break into their company both electronically and physically to test the security of their building. It’s just a lot more low-tech than it would be now.
