What Hill Are You Willing To Die On?

The person who wins their league, whether they are an expert or novice, can contribute 85% of their success to luck. It doesn't make it any less fun or challenging, but the person who wins is very rarely the one with the most football knowledge. The champion of my last league was a 19 year old coctail waitress who's favorite current player is Tony Romo, and only drafted players if she could pronounce their name (which eliminated most of the league). Her favorite team was the Jacksonville Jaquars, whom she discovered existed around week 9 of that season, because she loves cheetah print (I wish I was making this up). She was an emergency replacement due to a last minute dropout, so we took her $100 and settled in for a good laugh. Little did we know, "ellies foot ball team" (her clever team name) would go on to be an unstoppable force. She won her first game despite accidentally not starting a QB. She beat 11 highly knowledgeable football fans and took home $900, more money than she knew existed up to that point. Upon receiving her winnings, she pronounced, "Football is easy!" I'm getting her to help with my team this year in hopes to replicate her success. Not every case is this extreme obviously. Often, the winner works hard for their respective fantasy title, but make no mistake: All the football knowledge in the world isn't worth as much as pure, dumb luck.
