What do you knowledgeable folk think is going to be the end game with the kratom ban?

Anything being placed on or off the controlled substances schedule is all up to Congress without an amendment pushed by 2/3 of the states(which isn't likely to happen). DEA only has the power via emergency scheduling to place something on the schedule for 2 years(and then request an extension) but that is purely temporary and to keep it there requires Congress. If it goes to Congress we have the power to have our voices heard a day then we also have the power of judicial challenge should the legislation go against us. It wont be simple, the cards are stacked against us because the lobbyists will come out of the word works on this to put pressure on them to ban it. If Congress schedules it the only place the DEA can put it is at a 1 because 2 through 5 requires medicinal benefit and to get that now under current laws requires a medicine be made, submitted for trails and approved. Regardless, if it gets on the schedule anywhere then it is a defacto ban because pharma isnt going to try to get it approved for medicinal use. We have a chance, may even it isnt an amazing one but evey time this community has been told we cant do something we did it anyway and forged a new path. We can do this also. It wont be easy but we can win as.long as we understand there will be some regulations and such to keep it legal.
