What made you all start prepping ?

The 2008 Financial Crisis. I had just entered the workforce when that hit. It was hard to find a job because I was competing with parents of all ages, college grads with masters, and retirees that had to come out of retirement - for a job in retail. When I was a manager we’d open a position for a back room employee and get over 400 applications in a few days - some with extremely impressive backgrounds that were very overqualified to work for $9/hr. People were desperate and were looking for any job they could get.

Unemployment skyrocketed in my area, and was over 40% for people in my age bracket (18 to 23). The OWS protests spark up and I join them, because I was sick of watching what was happening. Fast forward a few weeks and there were people who had organized a viral movement to move money out of banks and into credit unions. This was starting to create a bank run, so the government cracked down hard on the protest. I saw an older gentleman go to close his BofA account down, which hand roughly $3mil in it. He wanted them to close the account down and transfer it to a credit union. I saw 4 or 5 cops storm in and just beat the fuck out of the guy, for trying to close down his account. A whole group of the OWS crowd saw this happen and started rushing the cops. Tear gas went off, guns were drawn and the crowd dispersed.

We came really fucking close to civil unrest then, I witnessed it personally. When I saw the bubble was back and reinflating with a vengeance, I started prepping. This next collapse can only be significantly worse than what I saw in 2009 and 2010 - and it’s here right now, happening right now.
