How to deal with a trivial life and the lack of a greater purpose?

I think you just described your hardship and purpose without even realizing it. Your hardship is the rat race. Your purpose is to break free of the rat race(at least for now). Wes Watson > David Goggins > Jocko. They all motivational and very helpful, Wes Watson is imo the modern incarnation of Marcus Aurelius, he even looks like em. Wes was 10x more helpful for me personally than goggins or jocko. Wes is also much more entrepreneurial than goggins or jocko. Having said that, starting a weight lifting, and nutritional coaching business isn't what us normies really give a chit about. I'm more interested in how one starts an indoor shrimp farming operation, or how one becomes a general contractor for construction jobs, or how one gets into the business of selling 5 pieces of firewood wrapped in a cheap mesh bag for $10 a pop at pretty much all grocery stores in the US, or how does one simply start a f-ing business, do we make a foreign trust to avoid taxation, or do we make it a 501c to avoid taxation or do we make it something else.

Its impressive that Jocko wakes up at 4:00AM (after going to bet at like 8) but how do I get loan from the bank to finance 5 rental properties whose rent money will cover the monthly loan repayments and the leftover few thousand will go in my pocket? How Goggins flippin a house with zero experience in construction like thousands of general contractors and others do all the time to make multimillions a year. I love Jocko and Goggins, but they don't know chit about making money. Wes Watson has at least always had the entrepeneur mind set.

In my opinion your life will continue to be trivial until you quit your bs job and you are forced to remember what its like to be hungry again. Maybe spend 2 or 3 days with nothing but a knife and your clothes out in the wilderness (ya don't need a compass, the sun always in a southward direction if you above equator, and northward if below equator). Anything more than a knife(and maybe a matchbox or lighter) becomes 'camping' and will not fulfill any meaningful purpose. You gotta feel hunger again imo.
