In what is, most assuredly, an appropriate use of the court system, a Trump supporter is suing a Manhattan bar for not serving him because of his hat.

Republicans and Trump supporters, or really members of any political party or group, are not protected classes in any way.

any political party or group

I highlight this portion of what I said so you can really focus on it. What I said would not change regardless of what the person's political affiliation was. Political affiliation simply has not, by law, been defined as a protected classification in the way that something like race is. This isn't my opinion, this is the law. How much protection one has can vary by state but you just can't make an analogy that connects political party to race or similar protected classification, at least not one that any court I've ever heard of will accept.

Whether or not sexual orientation is to be protected in the same way is up in the air, but it's pretty clear from a legal perspective that someone can refuse service to you because of your political affiliation, left, right, or whatever else.

Why you're calling me a hypocrite I'm not sure I understand. I didn't express any kind of position on what actually happened here, so I haven't really given an opinion that I could then contradict. All I did was point out that there isn't any real legal precedent that would support a lawsuit here.
