What will happen when I decide to eject in atmospheric fight? Fall to my death?

Hi Jim,

Boss said it's okay for me to talk to you about the dampeners since we're making it an open patent (just made the announcement an hour ago).

Really short version that bit before the you hit the ground, there's a shield generator in the seat that throws up a series of shields in front of you. Each one's pretty weak; you can breach it by pushing it with your little finger but it's enough to slow you down a little bit when your body breaks through it. Repeating with a few dozen layers , and it's like jumping into a really big pile of cardboard boxes.

Nice thing about it is that you can power the whole thing off a single large capacitor, and you can use a tiny overclocked shield generator that can fit into the ejection seat (granted it burns out immediately after use but most people agree that one burned out shield generator is better then dying). Thanks to that you can fit the whole thing into an ejection seat. Granted you'll still be sore as hell afterwards and it won't save you if you're going too fast, but sure as hell beats the 'nothing between you and tomato paste end' alternative.

Most of the details will be in the technical brief when it's released (probably tomorrow morning), but that's basically the short of it. Lemme know if you've got any more questions.
