What works for you? - Apr 09, 21

Location: United States (South-East) When did you start having SD: 2020 Professional diagnosis: Yes x2 Areas of the body affected: Scalp/Face/Throat mainly Experience hair loss issues: No

What did not work for me: -Ketoconazole Cream 2% (made worse) -Pimecrolimus Cream 1% (did nothing)

New treatment/what is working for me: -Ketoconazole Shampoo 2% (4-5x week) -Sodium Sulfacetamide 8% Sulfur 4% Topical Suspension (face/body wash 1x day) -Altreno Lotion .05% (acne cream lightly over entire face, including any sebderm patches 1x day) -CeraVe PM Moisturizer (2x day) -Spironolactone 50mg Tablet (basically helps control hormone levels in my face) -Tacrolimus Ointment .1% (for any patches on my body that are either sebderm or eczema)

History: I saw a nurse practitioner at a dermatology clinic that diagnosed me with sebderm. She prescribed me Ketoconzole Cream 2%, Pimecrolimus Cream 1%, and Ketoconazole Shampoo 2%. Neither lotions worked. And didn’t see much difference using the shampoo.

Decided to get a second opinion from a dermatologist with the clinic. She diagnosed me with sebderm and eczema. She told me not to “spot treat” any acne on my face, that all of my skin needed to be treated the same level of harshness. She also told me that the shampoo would not make it completely go away but would help if I were sure to use it several times a week.

After a week or 2 of peeling, my face got pretty clear. My scalp also seems a little better. This from the combination of the items listed in the “what works for me” section above. (I have gotten some very painful patches on the corners of my lips that Vaseline seems to help.)

Fingers-crossed it keeps up
