But something seems off about that event. I work in the building next to Engineering, I use a computer managed by USF IT with Alertus running, I signed up for text notifications, and yet I did not receive any notification. You would expect this to be all over Twitter, but there is nothing, on any social media.

No building lockdown, nothing on the website, infromation screens, or USF computers, nothing on the speakers, and no emergency texts. And those outdoor speakers are LOUD.

Either someone thought starting such a rumor would be funny and it spread among engineering students, someone pressed an alert beacon and it malfunctionned, or USF dropped the ball big time and did not send a campus-wide alert.
