When I learned Perfuma was transfeminine I cried

Some people take away a feel-good story that looks great and has fun characters. Some people get affirmation they didn't even know they needed. It's just wholesome in a transformative way if your life may be lacking a ton of sunshine at the moment.

I think it's great. I wasn't really versed in LGBTQ stuff at all until about a year ago and could probably count on one hand all the representation I knew of up til then. I've known I was ace for a while but don't really associate that with the blatant minimization of most queer people, and being a bastard I never really looked into their causes or struggle besides surface-level support.

Then a few weeks ago I saw She Ra and wow, this show shines light on so many different communities and voices it can actually be informative. Not the first to do it of course, but certainly one of the most straightforward "mainstream" media pieces that just comes out and says "hey, who you are is great and normal." And it also tackles mental health in a way that is extremely rehabilitative. I feel like this show reaches more people that need to hear something, and gives whatever that is to them, more than just about anything I've seen, and also stands on its own as a great story by itself..
