I did it more than once and with far more than 10k, in 3 African countries, no problem. Ppl in some 3rd countries don't trust anything other than bags of flat for big transactions, massively and daily withdrawing their money from banks to pay and transact, it is how business is always done there, no problem. So, when I see that police can confiscate your flat and spend it, sorry to say it sound really odd, what happened to your brain you advanced world ppl?! Now you even don't own the wealth that you transport with you? What's the difference between "transport" and "at home" then? If you have no problem with the first you should not complain if tomorrow the police come to confiscate your cash at home.
