When someone tries to convince me that Cursed Child is canon

Yes this is exactly what I was coming back to say as a clarification, but you said it better. Her backstories about Dumbledore, Draco or Petunia, her essays about the history of magic, the recent revelation about Nagini, and Jo just sharing what influenced her writing (her mother's death, for one) make me see the series more clearly and I have a better appreciation for it. I just want to get to know the universe that she created in seven books a bit better. It's almost like when there's an actor whose performance I liked who then shares his or her beliefs about their character, including a back story that they very well may have made up themselves. I appreciate the artistic process and the hidden scaffolding. What I don't care to do is pile new and unnecessary, sometimes contradictory things on top of something that was already a masterpiece.
