How do y’all keep yourselves from burning out?

Ah I feel your struggle. I took Calculus 1, Bio 1 (w lab) and Gen Chem I (w lab) my first semester. Calculus 2, Bio 2 (w lab), Gen Chem 2 (w lab) my second semester. Took a 5 week, Physics 1 course (w lab, rip) during the summer.

I learned my lesson and I’m only taking Organic Chem 1 (w lab) this semester (along with other biological science courses).

I plan to take Organic Chem 2 and Physics 2 (both w lab) next spring, and will take Biochem (w lab) in the summer.

What I did for my jam-packed semesters was I deleted all of my social media accounts, and just focused on my studying, family and some close friends. I found that by not worrying about other things I had more space for my brain to chill out, if that makes sense. I tried to take everything one step at a time, planned out my entire week with a checklist made on my notes app where I could nicely mark things as done as the week went on. I took it one week at a time because it really was a lot. And for exams that overlapped, I would study during the afternoons for one and nights for the other. Once I finished the first exam, I “erased” it from my head to prepare myself mentally for the next one.

Take breaks. Use your weekends to relax, and if you do homework on the weekends, use your mornings so you don’t have to worry about your work at night. I have been experiencing a lot of eye strain from Zoom University so I definitely step away every hour for at least 5 minutes to drink some water, or get a snack.
