Who is a player who you think has improved the most from last season to this season?

-Rory Darge. Made only 1 appearance for Edinburgh last year but is now one of Glasgow’s most important players and Hamish Watson’s heir-apparent

-Jack Dempsey. Seemed to have lost his place in the Australia team but has been our best player since joining this season and will probably get a cap for us in the autumn.

-Kyle Steyn. Really good debut season for Glasgow in 2019/20 but struggled a bit last year. Has proven himself to be a valuable part of the team this year and is equally adept at 13 or on the wing.

-Huw Jones. Was pretty poor in his last 2 seasons at Glasgow and didn’t look great early on this season either. With Tyrone Green injured he took his chance to stay at 15 for Quins really well and looks like the player we all know and love.

-Andrew Porter. Was already a brilliant backup for Tadhg Furlong at tightwad last year, but has taken his game to a new level since making the move to becoming a full-time loose head. Will only continue to get better.

-Damian Willemse. Has been on everyone’s radar since making his Bok debut age 20 in 2018 but was perhaps suffering a little from “Austin Healy-syndrome”- being too versatile for his own good. Seems to have found a home at inside centre and has been a key part of everything good that the Stormers have done this year.

-Mike Lowry. Originally a fairly promising stand off, injuries to Will Addison and Jacob Stockdale forced Ulster’s hand and led to them playing Lowry at fullback. He’s been nothing short of exhilarating- mesmerising opposition defenders and spectators alike with his lethal step. Made his Ireland debut in the Six Nations against Italy and is a now a key part of this dangerous Ulster side.

-Jonathan Danty. Danty’s always been a dangerous player with lots of x-factor, but seems to have matured as a player since switching his boyhood club, Stade Francais, for La Rochelle this summer. Was brought in to the France lineup to replace the injured Virimi Vakatawa, and performed so well that Vakatawa has yet to reclaim his spot. A key player in France’s grand slam win.
