Wich cut to use for Hot-shot production

As Daryl says, any one handed cut that ends with your forefinger contacting the bottom card of the upper pack will do. No idea if the cut Daryl uses was a cut before but I have reason to believe that it's original, since it's called the hot shot cut i.e. the whole cut is a hot shot cut, not just the flicking out of the card. Therefore, I don't think they'll be many cuts that would be as good, in fact I don't know of any that give the same effect, without flashing or modification... However here are some suggestions:

For absolute beginners I'd say the charlier cut would suffice, although the bottom card flashes on the right side (if you're right handed), it's a super easy way to get into it though.

Paul Harris published a simplified version in his Art of Astonishments series (book 3), where he elimates the cut Daryl does, and adds a simpler one. Not sure what the actual cut is called, again it could've been something that Harris came up with, but it's definately not a common one.

Some other one handed cuts that could be theoretically used for it, however each one has a potential flashing problem, or just needs modifying:

The Pinkie Cut (kind of like a reverse Charlier, only using the pinkie for maneuvering the packets).

The Hermann Cut (This is literally the Hermann Pass, but one handed).

Horizontal Turn Cut would be great for it, has the same appearance of revolving packets, but could flash as the latter of the cut is similar to that of the charlier.

The Scissor cut is not perfect for it, since the forefinger is the main pivot point for the two packs and is used up to the point where the packets fall flush, so unless you modify it, it's not good for the hot shot in it's vanilla stage.
