Really what the situation was is that several years ago Rousey was ahead of the division in skill. Her judo and armbar were just on a different level than the competition. With that bar being set the other women in that division knew what level they had to get to.

During that time Ronda seriously drank her own koolaid and believed all the hype about herself. On top of that her main coach Edmond is a fucking joke and has been more than a little responsible for her stagnation and her foolish belief that she can box.

So the rest of the division caught up. After the holly Holm loss Ronda went emo and took over a year off, she came back and found out real quick just how far in the dust she was left.
