I have run both and yes the X01 is a tad better over long and dirty rides, and stays dialed in a bit better, so the answer is yes. But the GX is not the issue if it’s a setup issue. Make sure the cable is set in the little groove at the RD screw correctly. Also, a bent derailleur hanger will cause this. Have the hanger aligned, and redo the RD setup. For troubleshooting you can also check the actuation of the cable releasing at the RD end. Since you say it can skip, it means there are times when it does not shift either. It can also be the barrel adjuster has the cable adjusted between gears, and the RD is simply choosing the next gear that the chain falls to. So the derailleur is not as strong to pull the chain off to the lower cog, but that next click is like a 1.5 gear shift. That’s again more likely the bent derailleur hanger issue.
