Will you still like giannis if he leaves?

The NBA is a players league, so this scenario was inevitable for quite some time now. I have never had a problem with Giannis leaving Milwaukee. I understand in the NBA it is probably in his best interest to leave Milwaukee not only for endorsements and contending for a championship, but even personal things like not wanting to leave through our winters. I get it, always have.

As a resident of the city, fan of the team and fan of his though, I am paying a lot of attention to how he goes about doing it. Everything leading up to the last few weeks had me believing it wasn't even a question he would sign his supermax deal to stay in Milwaukee. Yes, in the last year or so he started to bring up the usual "it's a business, we will have to see what happens" talk, but he always tempered it with a "but I want to win a championship/stay in Milwaukee" speak.

Now I'm not sure what he's going to do. The last two weeks have been rough waiting for him to sign, but today was kind of a gut punch. As much as I am still a fan of his, I'll never look at him the same now; the luster is gone. He always had a Damian Lillard feel to me. He always felt like he called Milwaukee home and wasn't really questioning leaving. So I'm very confused right now and I don't think I'll ever feel the same way about him, even if he ends up staying. That "special" feeling and connection I felt he had to Milwaukee has been soured for me personally.
