With coal in free-fall, Wyoming faces an uncertain future

I came to the comments to post something similar. I don't know if I thought it was going to decline as fast as it did. I can tell you that five years ago a family member made some financial decisions based on what I considered then to be a false belief in coal. My wife and I have recently discussed our conversations from back then. I was very worried about my family member at the time. It turns out that they've escaped layoffs and managed to weather (so far) a bankruptcy. I still don't they they get how bad it is, and they are in the middle of it. I think people in the basin are blinded by a deep, political hatred and can't get their minds wrapped around the facts. It is personal to them, because it is actually personal.
