I don't know why you're being downvoted.

It's very rare to see someone carry a firearm not in battery...the whole idea of carrying a firearm is to be able to utilize it at a seconds notice to save a life.

It's obviously much less effective to have to draw the weapon, then make it operational, before you get a sight picture and fire.

They actually used to train military MP's like this, that is to draw and rack the slide simultaneously, because they didn't want the liability risk of unpolished soldiers walking around with loaded arms on base...however, as far as I know that went away, because even with training it specifically, it was seen as insanely ineffective.

If all the people downvoting you are carrying a non-operational weapon, I'd love to know the reasoning.
