This isn't Puritanical Liberalism. This is politics making strange bedfellows.

Autogynephiles want political cover, guarantees of physical safety, and sexual gratification, in the form of freedom to cross-dress in public. The orgs that fought the gay rights movement, which have won the war, want a perpetual struggle so the people who work at them don't have to get real jobs. Dems want a distraction from their shitty governance. Shitlibs want the moral high ground. Rich college kids want a cause. Grifters want to grift.

There's no moral principle at work here comparable to any form of theology. This is a jackass dressed up in a lion skin by an ape.
