Would Thomas step down if Trump loses to get a new Justice confirmed before inauguration day?

We the People can appoint anyone we chose to the Supreme Court through Congress. If Congress, as the legislators for the people, want to increase the number of Justices it only takes a majority.

If the framers wanted greater compromise they could have made it the same as impeachment. But it is a simple majority.

Pass a constitutional amendment if you don't like legislation of the Supreme Court.

Hah about the Supreme Court not political.

If you don't want court packing then compromise on reform such as rotating justices and adding associate justices. The Supreme Court is political and always has been. There are ways to make it more impartial.

However, compromise will take a Constitutional Amendment, because any compromise could be ruled unconstitutional.

So, if you don't want court packing, which it only takes a simple majority, then there needs to be a Constitutional compromise.
