People with high IQ of Reddit, what advantages and downsides have you found during your life regarding said high IQ?

No idea. I was tested in middle school without consent and counselors asked for a parental meeting where they were told not to tell me. Based on my HS experience I suspect they told my teachers who did weird things. I didn't really need a test though. I realized when I was 4 that I could tell adults what to do like it was their idea and when I was 6 I knew this was very bad like kicking puppies or choking kittens which makes me very very mad. I also have extreme facial recognition that is called a super recognizer(tion). I've always had to keep what I see and understand mostly to myself because it can be very disturbing for some I guess. I stopped playing cards because I got sick of being called a cheater. I didn't feel comfortable with people until I worked in labs in college to pay for bills and then yale doing genetics and neuroscience. I worked with people from around the world who survived incredible things just to work at Yale at this small lab bench. It was very humbling and although many teachers were mean, taking me to visit labs early on was the right thing for me. In Science, there are problems and challenges that even if we all do our best and work hard we still may not solve them. I could do horrible things, but with Science out there I know there is always a better use for my gifts if I possess any at all.
