Yeah the British Empire was in the right in this particular situation.

Yeah that's the thing I find really hard to believe that sati was prevalent in ancient Hindu religion. Why? Because I am Hindu and I've asked my grandparents whether they have any insight about this and how many people from our generation have done this. Guess what nothing came. I also asked another one of my old neighbours and got the same answer. Even tho they have a brief history about what their old generation people and what they did (like for instance my grandfather told me they were in the kings court as an adviser in ancient times). Hmmm or Maybe they are not that old, right?. So I dug in on the internet to find out how prevalent sati was in the old days. I've found that it was very rare for someone to go sati. Extremely rare. Yes there was child marriage where sometimes literally childrens were married to each other and in some instances a old guy (around 20-30) used to marry child. But even in that case after that person's death sati was not mandatory. It's a choice, which was heavily opposed by the family members. But if the woman was determined to do it whatsoever, then she could. Also I've got other interesting results that sometimes women use to go sati so to avoid getting #apped, tortured or getting #ex slaved since it was a really bad time during islamic for hindu widow women to exist.
