102nd Weekly Stupid Question Thread

Hmm, in that case, a good deal of your choices would be my recommendation too.

Note: Some of the Awaken choices are pretty good, and might even be better, but for your desired skills, we'll omit them from our choices. For instance, the Deviljho DS is definitely better than the gore magala DS.

Fire: Wyvern Conciliation

Water: Crossenders.

  • Holy Knight Sabers is a close alternative if you need an extra slot. The 20% affinity isn't enough to keep up with Crossenders imo.

Ice: Appallagombs

  • Blizzard and Blaze is an interesting competitor. It has the same raw, Purple sharpness, and +190 Ice over Appallagombs, but it's double elemental DS, which are known to work poorly. HOWEVER, it's paired with Blast element, which would make just as potent. The problem is, Appallagombs would be dealing 300 ice with each strike, which Blizzard and Blaze would only be dealing 490 every other attack. Blast once procced, will deal a nice chunk of damage, but eventually the procs come later and later with resistance, making Appallagombs far superior in the long run, where Blizzard and Blaze would only be stronger for quick short hunts where the bomb blast will do significant damage and proc fast enough to matter.

Thunder: Suzuka Otakemaru.

  • Neo Acrus Whitebolt and Wunderkirins are the upcomer here imo. With Wunderkirins, tons of lightning elemental make it great with an element boosting set, but in this case, you're simply using sharpness +1 and attack up (L) from Honed Edge, so Suzuka wins out here. Don't worry too much about the -15% affinity, the huge boatload of raw you get completely overshadows the tiny -15% chance. Neo Acrus Whitebolt is a very strong contender with your skills, but it's just slightly weaker than Suzaka Otakemaru imo, so if you wanna use Neo Acrus Whitebolt, feel free to use them. We're talking 411.6 vs. 417.725 in terms of slightly weaker btw. Slightly longer purple, but gone just as fast because we're talking about dual swords.

Dragon: Le Shangri-La

  • Contenders might be Dual Dragons "Angst", which has a kick ton more of dragon at the cost of have stupidly low sharpness (small white, lots of blue) and Enduring Surrender, which has even more dragon at the cost of crappy raw. You get lots of white sharpness though. In an elemental build, these might be more viable, but with raw boosters, Le Shangri-La is just better.
