I'm in a family littered with cops and that's a rough one. Cops in general are obviously very pro cop and the way the job absolutely ruins good people over time is heartbreaking. But, even though they all know that theres this attitude if tradition and resistance to change and a refusal to acknowledge possible problems unless it's very clear the officer is in the fault. A lot of them(even good ones) dont even like having bodycams based on my conversations with them. Part of that probably comes from their knowledge that a lot of situations they find themselves in are morally and legally grey and the exposure to the worst of people, so they dont feel as safe in an already dangerous job. I'm obviously going to biased to police as well, but I do see some problems and I support cameras and some reform, and the only time I got my cop father to admit that something was fucked up was when a sheriff(not technically the same but still) shot a man's dog in front of a man to spite him. Talking is good but actually improving it is very hard to do
