Well yeah, it's treated as such in the documentary too. If you abuse it you're going to have some unpleasant withdrawals, I don't see anyone disputing that. Withdrawals are like caffiene withdrawals unless you slam down tons of it a day, which even if you are taking it for pain, isn't necessary or recommended.

Anyone capable of doing some basic research will find out just how bad the withdrawals can be before taking it. No one said it's all magic and sunshine with no downsides.

The main point is it isn't as addictive or dangerous as prescription painkillers or other substances like heroin, and if you make it illegal that's what the people who take it are going to fall back into.
