Lets call it like it is- the art and appeal of drag, and more pertinent to the conversation, drag RACE, is the subversive nature of a man embracing and exaggerating all the things society says he should not be. Do I think all people have the right to do drag, whatever it means to them? YES. Do I think a woman dressed as a woman is remotely as significant in terms of a gender transformation and illusion as well as a fuck you to gender roles? NO. and there's nothing wrong with saying that. Cis men as drag queens are a specific population that experience homophobia and hatred for their gender expression and if this platform was made for them why the fuck do people need to take that away? the conversation gets so muddy because people want so badly to be offended.
