Adoption exists ofc but the foster system is already very full and growing up in the foster system increases your chances of many issues such as mental health. The issue is forcing women to carry a baby for 9 months which is not easy on their bodies at all and is very painful. There is also the trauma of say being raped and then carrying your rapists child can bring as rape is not just a physical trauma but an emotional and mental one in many cases. Pregnancy can also be expensive and people on 0 hour contracts may have their jobs in trouble and if you're already a poor family and one of the household members loses their job that might be the tipping point into poverty
