I am in need of an SEO expert

Hey, man.

I'm not going to offer you any work, because I want this to come off as advice and not a sales pitch or a manipulation. I'm not a sales guy anyway.

Your partial knowledge of this stuff is causing you to seek out shitheads, basically. They're just saying "uh huh" and asking for your money. It's hard to avoid these people. Like really hard, they're coming out of the fucking woodwork. But let me point out some better ways to think about search engines, especially in recent years and for the future.

It'll make it a little easier to filter these fucks out.

First, keywords. They can lead you down a path of spam and self destruction. It's better to think in terms of topics. Basically, answer everything someone needs to know about your business. If your competitor does a better job of explaining his business and promising the things people want, 'fuck your site' says Google.

Closely related, the pages. Third page of Google, second page... these are sort of signs of progress, but not really, you know? The type of work that will get Google to take you from >100 to Page 3... could easily be the kind of shit work that will keep you clear off of page 1. It also implies to me that you have your One True Keyword. This is the worst. Say you've hired 8 useless SEO companies. I'd bet you a $100 that you had 7 dumbshits/scammers and one pussy who decided to chase your keyword instead of your customers, knowing it was stupid but hoping they would luck out or something.

Then, the domains. Why, why do you have 6 domains? Are there 6 businesses? Do you sell 6 services that no two people on Earth would want at the same time? You need to cut that shit out most likely. Any good web developer will hear "I have 6 domains for my one business" and ask you to consolidate and redirect them, or just delete 5 of them, depending on if they get any appreciable traffic or if they have spam links.

You said it's not a competitive market, it's not insurance... that means you just have to make your site informative, quick, readable to search engines, and devoid of any spammy stupid bull shit. You need a website you'd want to visit. Don't buy links don't buy links.

It's a two way street here - SEO people get burned by sociopathic small business owners all the time. Anyone who takes your offer is desperate or dishonest, either way probably bad at their job.
