An outline of the Bundesliga 50+1 rule

Swedish football employs basically the same rule but with no exceptions. So far only one club has gone around the rule in the same way as RB Leipzig have done. A strict set of rules regulating who can be a member as well as an insane members fee keeps the control in the hands of basically one private owner.

AFC Eskilstuna is the club if you want to put it down on your list of clubs to despise. Run by a russian millionair. In forming the club he basically put an end to atleast two older lower division teams by putting them in debt to him and later clearing the debts by him getting control of the clubs, changing the names of the teams as well as emblem and colors.
